#Role Points (RPs)

Role Points (aka RPs, Role-Points or RolePoints) are out-of-character currencies that can be used to make purchases that enhance your in-character gameplay. Their use is not mandatory. To see how many RPs your account has, you can use the @rps command from the Welcome Area (WA) while not in-game.

Obtaining Role Points

You earn Role Points multiple ways; based on your play time, being visible on WHO, receiving @kudos from another player, receiving a Role Point or Bonus Point award from a staff member, through a Role Player of the Month award or by converting StoryPoints.

Note: Max Role-Point Accumulation Rate is 8/hr for basic accounts and 12.0/hr for premium accounts. Double RP promos and purchases can exceed these amounts.

RP Earning Method	How it works
In-Game Play Time	Each hour spent in-game (IG) while actively inputting commands awards your account a base amount of RPs/hour. Basic accounts earn 2.5 RPs/hour while Premium accounts earn 5 RPs/hour. This rate can also be increased depending on Bonus Points earned by the account. Note: The Welcome Area (WA) does not count as time in-game and you will not gain RPs for being in the WA.
Visible on WHO	Each hour spent in-game (IG) while being visible on WHO (visibility can be switched using the toggle-who command) awards your account additional RPs/hour. Free accounts earn 0.25 RPs/hour. Basic accounts earn 0.50 RPs/hour while Premium accounts earn 1 RPs/hour. Note: The Welcome Area (WA) does not count as time in-game and you will not gain RPs for being in the WA.
@Kudos	When another player gives you @kudos, your account is awarded 5 RPs immediately. Each Kudos also counts as 5 points towards "RPer of the Month" as an additional reward. Please note: You cannot award kudos to accounts within your own household.
Role Point award from Staff member	Staff members (GMs & SGs) may award you RPs as a reward for role play or involvement in an event in-game. Each RP award from Staff also counts as points towards "RPer of the Month". (e.g. "You have just been awarded 5 role points.(Sword Night) Good work!" )
Bonus Point award from Staff member	If a staff member awards you 1 Bonus Point (BP), you also receive 100 points towards "RPer of the Month" as an additional reward.
(Account) Bonus Points	Once Bonus Points (BPs) are awarded to your account by a GM, they remain associated to your account. (To view BPs use the @rps command.) Each 10 BPs earned increases your Hourly RP Rate by 0.5 RP/hour.
RolePlayer(RPer) of the Month	Each month, the number of points earned from Players (Kudos) or Staff (BPs & RPS) are counted towards the Roleplayer of the Month for that month. The points earned from these methods are also converted to role points at the end of the month. It scales based on how many you received. (e.g. 300+ was 3:1 the number, so at 300 you'd get 900 RPS. Lower end was 1:1 and went up to 2:1 around 100)
Converting StoryPoints	You can spend Storypoints and convert them to RPs at a rate of 1 StoryPoint = 5 Role Points.

#Role Point Purchases

Role Points can be used to change how your character appears cosmetically (e.g. custom description), change your character's mechanics (e.g. how many skills they can learn), to request a custom in-game event supported by the GMs and more.

The cost of making purchases using Role Points (RPs) can vary based on your account subscription level. Below is a list of all RP expenditure options with their varying costs.

#StoryPoints (StPs)

StoryPoints (story-points/StPs) are out-of-character currencies that can be used to make purchases that enhance your in-character gameplay. Their use is not mandatory. To see how many StPs your account has, you can use the @storypoints command.

Obtaining StoryPoints

• All paid accounts can purchase a limited amount of StoryPoints every 30 days for an additional cost under the Account Overview page.
• StoryPoints are sold in multiples of 50.
• Basic accounts may purchase up to 50 StoryPoints a month.
• Premium accounts may purchase up to 250 StoryPoints a month.
• Premium accounts automatically receive an additional 50 StoryPoints on the 1st of every month.

#StoryPoint Purchases

Your ability to make purchases with StoryPoints varies based on your account subscription. All purchases are made using the @play command within the Welcome Area (WA).

Sandbar Domus (400) - Includes 6 rooms | Materials: Marble floors & painted plaster walls. Rock Valley Domus (500) - Includes 4 rooms | Materials: Painted/Polished timber. Blackvine Domus (500) - Includes 5 rooms | Materials: Unfinished timber, stone, and brick. Seld Domus (500) - Includes 5 rooms | Materials: Rustic timber, unplastered stone, and brick. Steps Domus (500) - Includes 5 rooms | Materials: Aged painted plaster and cracking stone construction. Quartz Heights Domus (600) - Includes 7 rooms + an atrium | Materials: Highest-quality marble floors and richly decorated walls.
Domus Baths Addition	250	This purchase allows you to add a hot or cold bath room to your existing domus. Baths come with permanent lighting. Once purchased, you'll receive the "domus bath" option in your @perks menu. When you're ready to use it, send in an @request to get started. (Using the perk will prompt you with the same information). The baths can be in a new room (typically by going down, as long as there is space) or they can replace an existing room. There is no IG or RP cost to transform/add a new room for a basic bath. If you want to upgrade your basic bath cosmetically, there would be an IC charge for that.
Double Role Points for 7 Days	50	This purchase sets your account's multiplier to 2, or to the game-wide rate (whichever is higher) for 7 days. This impacts RPs/Hour rate. It does not stack with promotional Role Point gain rates, and may only be purchased once per month.
Skill Point Cycle Reset	50	This purchase will reset the weekly Skill Point Cycle to Day 1 for a single character. Note: You will get the most out of this purchase if your character has already trained and is as close to minimum SP gains this Cycle as possible. Community Note: This purchase appears limited to once per month. (30 calendar days) A Premium Subscription is required for this option. This does not pause the standard weekly SP Cycle Reset on Wednesdays @ 8PM EST.

#Perks

Paid accounts receive a usable gift on the 1st of every month, referred to as a Perk. These perks can be accessed through the @perks menu from the Welcome Area (WA).

Obtaining Perks

Basic and Premium accounts automatically receive a Perk during the morning of the 1st of the month. These Perks are typically one-time use and can be used/spent at any time, not only during the month that they were awarded.
