Brawling Guide

Brawling Guide

Below you'll find everything important to know about using Brawling.

In a Nutshell

Pros

  • No need to carry the extra weight of a weapon or shield.
  • You can use Skill Points (SP) from Pankration to learn Brawling (and vice versa).
  • Brawling can be used to complement most weapon-based skill sets. When wielding a weapon/shield, only kick, knee, Foot Stomp, Knee Break & Head Butt will be available to use.

Cons

  • Blocking with your bare (unarmored) limbs can cause you to take damage. The damage you take is negated after rank 60 in the associated block.

Advice & Tips

  • To avoid getting stuck in RT when attacking right after being knocked down, use toggle-groundfight to disable (or re-enable) attacking while prone.
  • Until your blocks are ranked high enough to no longer inflict damage on you, a strong pair of left & right manica and thigh greaves are highly recommended to reduce any damage you take from blocking.

Weapons

SPECIAL NOTE: While Brawling requires no weapons to use, your starting attack damage will be low, requiring 151(?) ranks to fully maximize.

Armor

  • Until your blocks are ranked high enough to no longer inflict damage on you, a strong pair of left & right manica and thigh greaves are highly recommended to reduce any damage you take from blocking.

Moves

Worthwhile

  • Foot Stomp - Great knockdown move. High crit rate. Can be used with or without a weapon wielded.
  • Knee Break - Great knockdown move. Harder to land than Foot Stomp, but will often stun. High crit rate. Can be used with or without a weapon wielded.
  • Leg Whip - Versatile attack, can be used while laying and it triggers a rise.
  • Punch - Highly accurate (easy to land) attack, but does weak damage.

Less useful
