Codex Kimalei Poems

A book of poems
by Kimalei Umbringer

Sadness

In my eyes, one may see
the pain, the hurt, the misery.
Though through the tears, I often shed
I lay alone upon my bed.
My heart it aches, it yearns for touch.
But with my past, I fear it to much.
So here I lie, to others near
showing I am happy, and have no fear.
The sadness grows every day
but I will hide it still, till I turn grey.
Yet, in my heart, I know I will find
true happiness one day, easing my mind.

Lost Love

A warm caress, a tender kiss
two lovers combine, completly in bliss
Yet through the years, they grow apart
Yet neither one wants a broken heart
They stay, they kid, they pretend to love
As they stars and skies, shine from above.
They laugh and kiss, share one last touch
But they both knew, it was far to much
They say their goodbyes, and go on their way
Only to hope, to love again one day.

Friendship True

A friendship true, has come my way
Makes all my blues just melt away
We laugh, we joke, we smile and hug
All my sadness is swept under a rug
A friendship true, has come to me
A friendship true, that will always be.

Remember ?

Remember the day, you caught that smile
The day it seemed to be all worthwhile
A little wink, a wave of the hand
Was all it took to feel so grand
Remember the time, the first shared kiss
The one you remember and always miss
The first embrace, the gentle touch
Who could of known it ment so much
Remember the time, you fell in love
When the sun shined down from above
The sparkle in your eyes, the curl in your lips
That lovely smile, that could move ships
Remember the time, you hold so dear
Remember it always, and have no fear

Let the children play

Come one, come all, on this wonderful day.
Come one, Come all, let the children play.
Hear hear! hear hear! the music abound
The dance, the smiles, the looks all around.
Come one, come all, on this wonderful day.
Come one, come all, let the children play.
Hear hear! hear hear! let it be known
the laughter and happiness, let it be shown.
Come one, come all, on this wonderful day.
Come one, come all, let the children play.

Shadows

The sadness grows, as do my fears
What if they are watching, what if he hears
Hidden you stay, quite out of sight
For if you were found, it would be a fright.
Sneaking in shadows, closing your eyes.
Trying to hide, from those hidden spies
Oh no, they found you, must run away
Must move to fight, and live another day
You flee, you fight, you struggle to live
Is this all you offer, is this all you give
Sneaking in shadows, closing my eyes
Trying to hide, from those hidden spies

The Smile

The smile on your face, so faint, so pure
No one really knows, what all you endure
You wave, you laugh, you try to stay true
You struggle, you fight, you need not be blue
Raise up, be proud, be strong as you should
Don't cry, don't pout, though you feel that you could
Go live, go play, enjoy your life
Don't let them get you, you need not to strife

This book is dedicated to all my friends and family. I love you all.
