#The Auxilii Charter

1. Charter

The Divortium Auxilii's purpose is to greet those new to Iridine, assist citizens, and offer guidance to whomever requires it.

2. By-laws

  • a. All Auxilii will greet newcomers to Iridine for four (4) hours per week (real-time). As well, all Auxilii should participate in at least two (2) hours of duty per week (real-time), to remain active. (Failure to do so, can result in removal)[All hours should be done IG on the bench. In the WA an Auxilii should -always- help new accounts logging in.]
  • b. Hold civic meetings such as: Auxilii open houses, Guild sponsored events (guilds could pay a fee for the use of the facilities, in exchange for this they would have the use of the facilities and refreshments provided), fund raisers, etc.
  • c. Meetings will be held on a regular basis of not less than twice per month. Auxilii are required to attend at least one (1) per month in addition to their time spent as a greeter. (Failure to attend a meeting over two (2) months, without notification, can/will result in dismissal.)
  • d. The auxilii will staff the Divortium Auxilii as able in addition to greeting newcomers at the bench. The Divortium Auxilii will be used for public announcements from different guilds, and Auxilii should update and regulate any announcements.
  • e. Jail time and Civil Disobedience will be cause for disciplinary actions and can result in dismissal from the Divortium Auxilii.
  • f. If a member is inactive for two (2) months, without prior approval by the Primus, they will be dismissed.
  • g. If an Auxilii member is removed based on inactivity, they may submit a Reinstatement Letter to a council member for review. Once reviewed by Primus and Council members and if accepted, the ex-member will be put on a Probation period for two (2) weeks, in which four (4) hours each week of active duty need to be recorded for reinstatement.
  • h. All Auxilii will be available to mentor new members.
  • i. There will be on going recruitment to maintain a minimum 10 Auxilii.
  • j. Assistant Auxilii can be recruited at the council's discretion with funds available [no powers].
  • k. There will be a council that presides over the Auxilii, and is elected from its ranks. To run for council an Auxilii must have reguraly done his or her duty hours. This will be judged by looking at the submitted timesheets. If a council member position is left vacant or has been removed, the Primus and Coucil Members will re-elect for.
  • l. Auxilii Primus: this person will be elected yearly.
        • 1. They will keep track of time sheets.
        • 2. They have veto power of any item being discussed by the council.
        • 3. They are the liaison to the Auxilii mentor, .
        • 4. They will hold one of the keys to the strongbox and donations box.
  • ii. The remaining four council members shall be elected every 6 months.
  • iii. This body chooses the new Auxilii members from applications received.
  • iv. They will assign training, and ensure it is done.
  • v. They will enforce the laws and administer disciplinary actions.
  • vi. They will formulate and ratify a budget which will be posted in the forum.
  • vii. There will be one treasurer
        • 1. This post will entail keeping track of the money
        • 2. They will pay expenses.
        • 3. Holds the other key to the strongbox.
        • 4. Holds the other key to the donation box.
        • 5. Formulate a monthly financial report.
  • viii. There will be one secretary
        • 1. They will post the minutes of any meetings, including council meetings (decisions not discussions or process. i.e. "We chose Joe, Sue, and Ann as new Auxilii" not "We didn't like Sally or John, so we chose")
        • 2. They will make sure meetings and Auxilii events are properly announced, eg. by posting at the message office and in various Inns.
  • ix. There will be one council member in charge of donations
        • 1. They will ensure a plentiful supply of equipment and supplies for newcomers to the city, gathered through donations and drives and supplemented with purchases made with Auxilii funds.
        • 2. They will also ensure a full stock of welcome sacks is maintained, creating more when needed
  • x. There will be one council member in charge of recruit training
        • 1. They will keep track of who is a recruit, assigning them a mentor and gather their training hours.
        • 2. At the end of a training period, they will submit their evaluation of the recruit.
  • xi. All five council members will have a key to the storeroom.
  • m. The Primus gets the use of an office in the Divortium Auxilii building, a key will be provided.
  • n. If 80% of the auxilii petition for the removal of a council member, they will be removed and a special election held.
  • o. If 90% of the auxilii, of which the 4 council members are a part, petition for the removal of the Primus, they will be removed and the secretary or treasurer will be acting Primus until a special election can be held.
  • p. The Primus will add or remove members from the roster. She/he will give all new members their keys and sack.
  • q. Newcomers will pass by the bench at the Toga where they can be greeted by an Auxilii. [Information will be given for a period of one week whenever the user or character logs in]
  • r. Training will take place over the course of four weeks.
        • i. First week : The recruit sits with an Auxilii at the bench for four (4) hours, observing.
        • ii. Second week : The recruit sits with an Auxilii at the bench for four (4) hours, helping when asked. eg. guiding the person to Leda's or the Hospice.
        • iii. Third week : The recruit sits with an Auxilii at the bench for four (4) hours, doing the work while the Auxilii observes.
        • iv. Fourth week : The recruit sits at the bench for four (4) hours, on his/her own.
