Herbalism

Skill Overview

Leaves, flowers, roots—you breathe and eat them; sometimes you even dream about them. Whether your specialty is medicine for the healer; cosmetics for the actor, trollop, or thief; dyes for the fuller; or Ereal forbid — the assassin's poison, some basic principles are universal. Whether your mentor was a sage scholar or a village mid-wife, the familiar lessons still echo in your mind…

"The knowledge of plants is a way of life. You must know where to find them, when to harvest their useful parts, and how to distill their essence.

Treat each one with care, like a friend who who not only rewards you with the unique pleasures of his company, but who also requires unique nourishment and care. Some are stout and hardy, some delicate and tender. Whatever its character, you must be careful not to over-harvest a plant. Plunder too often its gifts, and it may die."

Herbalism deals with the study and use of flora.

For guidance on using the skill set, see the Herbalism Guide.
