Pankration Guide
Pankration Guide
Below you'll find everything important to know about using Pankration.
In a Nutshell
Pros
- You can use Skill Points (SP) from Brawling to learn Pankration (and vice versa).
- No need to carry the extra weight of a weapon or shield.
- For a skill set with no access to shields, it has a decent defense, with Shoulder block being very effective against key attacks from other skill sets.
Cons
- Blocking with your bare (unarmored) limbs can cause you to take damage. The damage you take is negated after rank 90 in the associated block.
Advice & Tips
- To avoid getting stuck in RT when attacking right after being knocked down, use toggle-groundfight to disable (or re-enable) attacking while prone.
- Training your CM dodges higher (in terms of RB) than your Pankration blocks will avoid taking damage on blocking.
- Until your blocks are ranked high enough to no longer inflict damage on you, a strong pair of left & right manica and thigh greaves are highly recommended to reduce any damage you take from blocking.
- High ranks in Pankration blocks (Palm Block, Shoulder Block, Knee Block & Side Knee Block) up until Grandmaster (90 ranks) can help to reduce the damage taken from blocking
Weapons
This is the list of weapons that can be used by the Pankration skill set.
SPECIAL NOTE: While Pankration requires no weapons to use, your initial attack damage will be low. As you train in individual skills, your damage with each attack will progressively increase, requiring 151 ranks to fully maximize.
Armor
- Until your blocks are ranked high enough to no longer inflict damage on you, a strong pair of left & right manica and thigh greaves are highly recommended to reduce any damage you take from blocking.
